Delhi University has implemented a new process for admission to Delhi University (DU) from 2011.This year onwards there will be no Common Pre-Admission Forms (Centralized or Individual). Now students don’t have to fill any form be it OMR or online.
The new admission process will be as follows :-
New procedure followed by Colleges:
- As a first step,Colleges will prepare cut-off lists. The cut offs are expected to be higher than last year.
- University will put up this list for students to see.
- Colleges have to admit all students who match the cut-off published.Admission will not be on the basis of first come-first serve.
- Colleges are expected to come out with the first cut-off list by mid-June.The fifth list may come out between July 10 and July 15.Please see the tentative dates later in this post.
- Colleges will have to follow the policy of – Admit All Eligible Students if they clear cut offs.
For Students :-
- As said earlier, There are no pre-admission forms - centralised or individual – that are to be filled by a student. Students have to wait for the university to first declare the cut-off list.
- After seeing the cut-off lists of different colleges, students can go to a college where they meets the cut-off and claim admission
- A student can take admission in the first list and if a better option comes up in the consequent lists, they can change the college. The colleges will refund the fee, like earlier.
- These steps have been widely appreciated by students and parents alike as it cleard away a lot of confusions and queues regarding DU admission forms.
