Description
The Goa Scholarship Programme For Diaspora Children is applicable to person of indian origin and non resident indian students of Goa origin for pursuing undergraduate studies in Professional and General Courses in Institutions affiliated to Goa University or the Goa Board of Technical Education. Assistance provided under the Scheme shall comprise of financial assistance primarily towards tuition fee, admission fee, and post admission services.

Eligibility criteria
1) The Goa Scholarship Programme For Diaspora Children is open to applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on 1st October 2009.Date of birth as recorded in the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education of Class X or equivalent or as mentioned in the birth certificate issued by the appropriate Government Authorities of the concerned country, will be taken as authentic for this purpose.
2)Residence: Applicant must be
(i) a person of indian origin of Goa origin and citizen of a country listed in Appendix – B , or
(ii) an Indian National of Goa origin studying abroad having at least 03 years of education in any of those countries during the last 6 years and must have passed the qualifying examination inclusive of 11th and 12th standard or equivalent (not beyond).
3) Academic Qualification: Qualifying Examination: He/She must have passed the Higher/Senior Secondary (10 + 2) or equivalent examination in any country listed in Appendix – B from a system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with requisite subjects.
Minimum Marks in qualifying Examination : He/She must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 – point scale or equivalent grades in aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying examination.
Subjects of study in Qualifying Examination : He/she must have studied the prescribed essential subjects at qualifying examination level to pursue a particular course of study. Details of Institutions and Courses in which scholarships shall be offered are indicated in Appendix – C. 4)
Income: In case of NRI students, the monthly income of the family of the applicant should not exceed an amount equivalent to US $ 2250/(US dollars two thousand two hundred and fifty only).
How to Avail
The application form available at the url should be filled and sent to the address mentioned by 31/08/2009. The form will also be available in the Directorate of Higher Education from 3rd August 2009.
