Description
The Annapurna Scheme aims at providing food security to those senior citizens who have remained uncovered under the National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS) despite being eligible for the scheme. Under the Annapurna Scheme, 10 Kg of food-grains per month are to be provided free of cost to the beneficiaries.

Eligibility criteria
The age of the applicant should be 65 years and above. The applicant must be ‘destitute’ in the sense that having little or no regular means of income to sustain life.

Gram Panchayats identifies the beneficiaries and communicate the same to collector/CEO.
