NORTHERN RAILWAYS : 

In order to clear extra rush of rail passengers during Festival season, Northern Railway has decided to run one special Tri-Weekly Superfast train no 0403/0404 between Delhi Sarai Rohilla Udhampur as per the programme:

The`0403 Delhi Sarai Rohilla Udhampur Tri-Weekly Superfast train will depart from Delhi Sarai Rohilla on every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday from 2.10.10 upto 20.11.10( 22 trips) at 10.15 p.m to reach Udhampur at 8.30 a.m the next day. While in the return direction the 0404 Udhampur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla

Tri-Weekly Superfast train will depart from Udhampur on every Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday from 3.10.10 upto 21.11.10 ( 22 trips) at 5.40 p.m to reach Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 4.00a.m the next day. The 0403/0404 Tri-Weekly Superfast train, consisting of One AC 2 Tier, One AC 3 Tier, Ten Sleeper class, Four General class & Two Second cum Luggage and Brake van coaches, will stop at Ambala Cantt., Ludhiana, Chhaki Bank & Jammu Tawi stations enroute in both the directions.

SOUTHERN RAILWAYS : DEEPAVALI SPECIAL TRAINS

            Southern Railway will run the following special trains to clear extra rush of passengers during Deepavali Festival. 

1.     Chennai Central – Tirunelveli – Chennai Central Superfast Specials: T.No.0601 Chennai Central – Tirunelveli Superfast Special will leave Chennai Central at 18.15 hrs. on 4.11.2010 and arrive Tirunelveli at 07.45 hrs. the next day. T.No.0602 Tirunelveli – Chennai Central Superfast Special will leave Tirunelveli at 14.00 hrs. on 5.11.2010 and arrive Chennai Central at 03.40 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be  1 AC  2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti and Vanchi Maniyachchi. Professors at IITs, IIMs get salary hikes

Yielding to the year-long demand of IIT faculty members, the Centre has decided to offer experienced and senior faculty members a Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) Pay of Rs 67,000-Rs79,000 — the highest government pay scale accorded at the Additional Secretary level since the Sixth Pay Commission came into effect.

The move is good news particularly for professors.

10 pc hike in Central government employees and pensioners’ DA

The government today hiked the central dearness allowance by 10 percentage points to 45 per cent of basic pay, a double “festival” gift after yesterday’s move to raise provident fund savings rates.Today’s increase, cleared by the Union cabinet and taking retrospective effect from July this year, brings employees within sniffing distance of a larger bonanza.

When the DA rate crosses 50 per cent, as expected next year, all allowances will go up 25 per cent, according to the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.Last March, the employees had got an 8 per cent DA hike, effective from January, though inflation was around 10 per cent in the preceding few months.

3 lakh Class IV employees to get benefit of 6th pay panel

Extending a largesse to state employees, the UP government on Saturday announced to implement the revised pay scale band for Class IV employees as recommended by the Sixth Pay Commission.

The decision, which will benefit three lakh Class IV employees, was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet presided by Chief Minister Mayawati here today.

The pay committee, which was set up by the state government in early 2007 to study and suggest measures for the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report, had recommended pay band of Rs 4470-7440 and grade pay of Rs 1,400 for Class IV employees.

The UP government, however, on the patterns of the Center today decided to give the pay band of of Rs 5,200-20,200 and grade pay of Rs 1,800 to Class IV employees of the state. The UP government had announced to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission for state employees in August 2007 and the decision was formally implemented from December 2007.Along with the Sixth Pay Commission benefit, the state government accepting the recommendations of the Pay commission has decided to ban further recruitment in Class IV and declared it as a dying cadre.
